Project Description

Gospodarstwo Rybackie Mazanów

Client

  • Redesign the logo
  • Develop a consistent visual identity across various communication channels, documented in brand guidelines
  • Design company apparel for employees and customers
  • Design icons and graphic assets
  • Design business cards and stationery

Objectives

The logo should reflect the dual nature of Gospodarstwo Rybackie Mazanów's activities, combining a traditional approach to fish farming with innovation, science with business, and the feminine and masculine aspects represented by the owners. Ethics and nature also play an important role, best conveyed by the word "harmony" or "balance." The logo should also evoke a sense of tranquility.

Assumptions

The logo needed to reflect the balance between the two owners, so it couldn't be too feminine or too masculine. The color scheme used emphasizes duality – the main color, "golden brown," adds elegance and seriousness while being a neutral, earthy shade associated with nature. Two secondary colors allow the branding to be adapted to the context: light creamy beige shifts it towards a more subtle, feminine feel, while deep navy blue adds seriousness and a masculine touch. This allows for communication on social media to be lighter and more lifestyle-oriented using light colors, or more technical and scientific using darker tones. This flexible approach allows the message to be tailored to the audience and situation.

After analyzing various approaches, I chose the Yin and Yang symbol as the base for the logo, as it best captures the idea of duality, harmony, and balance. Within its shape, one can see two fish, intertwining and dancing around each other in perfect equilibrium, complementing each other. The single, continuous line forming their silhouettes emphasizes the smooth transition from one aspect to another. It also symbolizes the tradition passed down from generation to generation – the knowledge and passion for fish farming.

To emphasize this fluidity, the logotype was designed with rounded, subtle letters, giving it slenderness and lightness. An additional detail referencing the symbol is the letter "ó" with a delicately stylized fin, ensuring that the logotype itself remains consistent with the entire visual identity.
